Be Like Bill Goes International!
Be Like Bill donated 3 AEDs to the U.S. National Guard! The 939th Military Guard stationed in Qatar was without any AEDs. Similar to police departments here in the U.S., the National Guard is often the first responders to emergencies wherever they happen around the world. This particular unit responded to a medical emergency and realized the had no AED in the event it was cardiac arrest.
We were contacted by Officer Tony Lovitt of the Carmel Police Department, who reached out to us about getting this unit - a unit his daughter is part of - some AEDs. The crazy part? Officer Lovitt was the first responder when Jeff suffered his event, and used his AED to shock his heart back into rhythm. Talk about a small - and great - world!
Be Like Bill was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and medal from the National Guard, as well as a thank you letter from the Department of the U.S. Army. We couldn’t be more proud to help our country’s military!
